( Figs 43–48 View FIGURES 43 – 45 View FIGURES 46 – 48 )

Glenea flavorubra Gressitt, 1940: 205 View in CoL , pl. 6, fig. 2.

Glenea (Stiroglenea) flavorubra: Gressitt, 1951: 580 View in CoL .

Glenea (Mesoglenea) invitticollis Breuning, 1956: 99 View in CoL . syn. nov. Glenea (Aridoglenea) flavorubra: Breuning, 1958: 877 View in CoL .

Supplementary description. Male: length: 10.0– 10.7 mm, humeral width: 3.2–3.4 mm. Female: length: 12.4–15.2 mm, humeral width: 4.0– 4.7 mm. Antennae longer (male) or shorter (female) than body; antennomere ratio: male: 13 3 16 14 13 12 11 11 10 10 11; female: 16 4 23 16 14 12 12 11 10 9 10. Prothorax not narrower from base to apex, very finely punctured. Legs stout, middle tibia grooved, hind femur reaching fourth abdominal segment, first hind tarsal segment slightly longer (male) or shorter (female) than following two segments combined. Male and female claws simple. Male terminalia ( Figs 46 View FIGURES 46 – 48 a–c): Tegmen length about 2.3 mm; lateral lobes slender, slightly narrower apically, each about 0.7 mm long and less than 0.15 mm wide, with a finely haired ridge at the base (in ventral view), apex with a few short setae; basal piece slightly bifurcated distally; median lobe plus median struts slightly curved, subequal to tegmen (22:23); median struts more than half of whole median lobe in length; dorsal plate shorter than ventral plate; apex of ventral plate rounded and slightly projected; median foramen elongated; internal sac more than 3 times as long as median lobe plus median struts, with 4 pieces of basal armature and 3 rods; longer ones each about 2.6 mm long, longer than tegmen. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 46 – 48 ) with apex bluntly pointed, with short and sparse setae. Ventrite IX subequal to ringed part of tegmen in length. Female terminalia ( Fig. 48 View FIGURES 46 – 48 ): Spermathecal capsule composed of an apical orb and a stalk, stalk almost straight, about twice as long as apical orb.

Diagnosis. Differs from G. nigrorubricollis sp. nov, G. subrubricollis sp. nov and G. rubricollis (Hope) in having the third antennomere stouter and with obvious erect hair; elytron with only four pubescent maculae.

Remarks. Breuning (1956) described the subgenus Mesoglenea diagnosed by antennomere 3 stout, with short erect hair; antennal insertions close to each other. Following careful comparison, we considered G. (Mesoglenea) invitticollis as a junior synonym of G. flavorubra .

Gressitt (1951) treated G. flavorubra in the subgenus Stiroglenea , without giving any reason, while Breuning (1958) treated it in subgenus Aridoglenea , without examining any specimens. Further studies are warranted.
