Kongsbergia View in CoL (s.s.) robisoni Radwell and Smith, 2011

( Figs. 57–63, 101, 102)

Kongsbergia robisoni Radwell et al. 2011 . Description. Character states of the robisoni subgroup. Male: Idiosoma in dorsal view nearly round to shieldshaped and with sides subparallel between humeral region and midlength, tapering posteriorly. Dorsal shield ( Figs. 57, 101) with anterior edge crenellate and with a deep medial depression bearing a large dome-shaped projection; with edge linear or slightly convex in area between eyes and humeral region and with a modest to strong humeral angle; reticulate pattern moderately developed and arranged in series of subparallel longitudinal lines in area between postocular setae; anteromedial hump large, lateral ridges well developed and sinuate, curving inward near midlength and then outward to meet lateral edges of shield posterolaterally to outline an elevated medial area extending posteriorly from anteromedial hump and surrounded by deeply depressed areas laterally and posteriorly; ridge bearing excretory pore large and prominent; medial pair of glandularia posterior to the postocular setae anterior to lateral pair of glandularia in same region ( Fig. 57, arrows); three pairs of slender setae on posterior edge; variable in color from colorless to yellowish with bright orange or pink patches medially and dark black patches anteriorly and posterolaterally. Ventral shield ( Fig. 58) with projections associated with insertions of fourth legs well developed. Pedipalp ( Fig. 59) with femur bulbous and bearing one large and two very small papillate projections ventrally. Fourth leg ( Fig. 60) with segments and setae as illustrated. Female: Dorsal shield ( Figs. 61, 102) and ventral shield ( Fig. 62) similar in shape, sculpturing and color to that of male, but dorsal ridges relatively weakly developed and projections covering insertions of fourth leg smaller. Pedipalp ( Fig. 63) with femur not enlarged and tibia proportionately thicker than in male. Measurements: Male (n=6): Dorsal shield length 310–348(346), width 270–290(274); ventral shield length 350–386(386), width 284–294(288). Lengths pedipalp segments: Tr 21–24(24), Fe 74–100(92), Ge 28–33(33), Ti 85–98(95), Ta 30–33(30). Pedipalp femur height 70–95(86). Remarks. Males of Kongsbergia robisoni differ from those of K. texana sp. nov. and K. floridana sp. nov. in having the medial pair of glandularia posterior to the postocular setae on the dorsal shield anterior to, rather than at the same level as or posterior to, the lateral pair of glandularia in the same region.
