Diagnosis. Body length 2.82–3.13 mm. Male: antennal club unmodified, antennomeres 9–11 enlarged, lacking modifications. Metaventral processes broad, expanded and bifurcate at apex in lateral view. Protibiae with small blunt projection at apices. Mesotrochanters with acute ventral spine. Aedeagus elongate, median lobe broad and slightly asymmetric. Female: similar to male in general appearance; antennomeres 9 much shorter than male; protibiae lacking apical projection; metaventral processes very short, roundly triangular in lateral view.

Description. Male ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Body reddish brown, Body length (from anterior margin of clypeus to apex of abdomen) 2.82–2.92 mm. Head approximately as long as wide, length from anterior margin of clypeus to base (excluding occipital constriction) 0.54–0.56 mm, width across eyes 0.56–0.58 mm; eyes prominent, each composed of about 40 facets; with short ocular canthi. Antennomeres 1 (scapes) slightly longer than 2–4 combined, antennomeres 2–4 and 8 of similar form, each about as long as wide, antennomeres 5–6 each distinctly elongate, antennomeres 7 slightly longer than wide and shorter than 6, antennomeres 9 as long as 10–11 combined, antennomeres 10 slightly transverse, antennomeres 11 sub-oval, truncate at bases. Pronotum ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ) slightly longer than wide, length along midline 0.59–0.61 mm, maximum width 0.54–0.57 mm, narrowing from distal 2/5 toward anterior margin. Elytra much wider than long, length along suture 0.83–0.86 mm, maximum width 1.10–1.16 mm. Metaventral processes ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ) expanded and bifurcate at apices in lateral view. Protrochanters and profemora ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ) simple; protibiae ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ) with short blunt projection at apices; mesotrochanters ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ) with acute ventral spine; metatrochanters and metafemora ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ) simple. Abdomen broad at base and narrowed posteriorly, slightly longer than elytra, length along midline 1.02–1.11 mm, maximum width 1.11–1.12 mm, tergite (1) IV more than twice as long as tergite 5. Sternite 7 (IX) ( Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ) semi-membranous and elongate. Length of aedeagus ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 I–K) 0.56 mm, median lobe broad and asymmetric; parameres elongate, almost symmetric, expanded in subapical regions; endophallus composed of two elongate sclerites.

Female. Similar to male in general appearance, with slightly shorter antennae and smaller eyes; antennae and legs simple; metaventral processes much shorter, roundly triangular in lateral view. Eyes each composed of approximately 38 facets. Measurements (as of male): Body length 2.98–3.13 mm, length/width of head 0.57–0.60/ 0.59–0.60 mm, pronotum 0.61/ 0.57–0.60 mm, elytra 0.70–0.74/ 1.15–1.18 mm, abdomen 1.08–1.09/ 1.21–1.27 mm.

Distribution. Sri Lanka: Northern, North Central, Central, Western provinces ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ).

Etymology: The new species is named after the country where the type locality is situated.

Notes. Labomimus srilankensis is geographically distant from all congeners, and can be readily separated by the unique shapes of the male antennal clubs and metaventral processes, as well as the aedeagus with a broad and elongate median lobe, and endophallus composed of two elongate sclerites.
