Type locality. Italy, Rimini .

Type material. Type material not located so far.

Distribution. Italy ( Muhlfeld 1824).

Remarks. Tryon (1887) and Bouchet (1985) considered this a junior synonym of Trochus perversus Linnaeues, 1758 .
