Type locality. Australia, Gulf of St. Vincent, beach drift.

Type material. SAM D.13442 , holotype .

Remarks. Preoccupied by Triforis lilacina Dall, 1889 . Isotriphora amethystina was proposed by Marshall (1983) as a replacement name.
