Description. Imago ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Wing expanse 9.0−11.0 mm. Head whitish yellow to yellow, brown on posterior region. Antenna whitish yellow on scape, whitish yellow and brown on flagellum. Labial palpus with first and second segments pale yellow inside, black outside except second segment pale yellow near apex; third segment black except basal 1/3 and apex pale yellow. Thorax and tegula with basal 2/3 dark brown, distal 1/3 greyish yellow. Forewing ground colour ochreous yellow with scattered black scales; costal margin with a small black basal spot, a large black triangular blotch medially reaching midwing distally and a black subapical blotch; ventral margin with black spot at base and white dot at its outside; five short white streaks present: first streak on costal margin extending from outside of basal spot to 2/5 of cell at middle, second streak on costal margin from outside of middle blotch reaching end of cell at middle, third and fourth streaks from ventral 1/3 and 2/3 extending up-outward to above fold, fifth streak from below the first one reaching near end of lower corner of cell and linking the first four streaks; termen dark, with two white dots; apex pointed, with white spot; cilia ochreous yellow except greyish on tornus and black along apical third of costal margin. Hindwing and cilia deep grey. Fore- and midlegs greyish yellow on ventral surface, black on dorsal surface except tibiae with yellowish white rings at base and apex; hindleg greyish yellow ventrally, greyish brown dorsally except tibia somewhat black.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 – 16 ). Uncus wide at base, narrowed toward pointed apex, somewhat conical. Gnathos narrow rectangular, granulated in anterior 1/4, blunt at apex; lateral arm slender. Valva nearly rectangular in shape; costa short, about 1/2 length of sacculus, with small sclerotized process at base extending downward, projected at distal 1/3, produced into a triangular distal process. Sacculus heavily sclerotized, of equal width, extending to a strong upcurved apical spine. Juxta extremely long, exceeding base of uncus; lateral lobe strong, each with sclerotized, apex-pointed process arising from base, curved and pointing upward. Saccus about half as long as sacculus, nearly parallel-sided, rounded at apex. Phallus almost as long as juxta, straight, with a sclerotized apical spine; cornutus slender and short, about 1/6 length of phallus, bifurcated distally.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ). Apophysis anterioris about 3/5 as long as apophysis posterioris. Lamella postvaginalis a narrow sclerotized plate, slightly concave at middle on posterior margin, margined with long setae. Lamella antevaginalis heavily sclerotized, with a wide dentate band arising from anterolateral corner. Ductus bursae with basal 2/3 sclerotized, distal 1/3 membranous, medially with a pile of spines and many margined teeth. Corpus bursae small and rounded, spinulose; signum absent.

Diagnosis. Superficially similar in forewing pattern to P. densimacularis Wang, Li et Zheng , P. infulata Wang, Li et Zheng , P. similinfulata sp. nov. and P. noviloba sp. nov., all of which have at least four short white streaks and some differently shaped dark blotches or spots, but can be distinguished from them as the juxta has a strong apex-pointed process arising from base of each lateral lobe, the phallus has an apical spine in the male genitalia, and in the female genitalia a wide, dentate band arises from anterolateral side of lamella antevaginalis.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin prefix quin - (five) and the word lineatus (line), referring to the forewing having five white streaks.

Hong Kong distribution and status. To date, this species has been found only at four sites, three are well developed secondary forest with permanent streams in the immediate vicinity, the fourth is a mixture of tall shrub and secondary forest, with a permanent stream within 100 m; the altitudinal range is from 150 to 450 m elevation; the flight period appears to be mid-April.
