( Figs. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 , 13 View FIGURES 11 – 16 )

Type material: CHINA: Holotype, 3, KARC, Hong Kong, 200 m, 16.viii.1999, leg. R. C. Kendrick, genitalia slide No. W06108.

Description. Imago ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Wing expanse 8.0 mm. Head whitish yellow, mixed with brown on vertex. Antenna whitish yellow on scape, greyish yellow and brown on flagellum. Labial palpus whitish yellow mixed with deep greyish brown scales, which become denser on outside. Thorax and tegula dark brown mixed with greyish white. Forewing ground colour ochreous with dense black scales; costal margin with large black blotches at base, middle and distal extending down and outward across midwing respectively, white streak from outside of basal blotch to 2/5 of cell at middle, three white dots arranged in a line extending from costal 2/3 to lower corner of cell; ventral margin with black spot at base edged with white streak at its outside, white streak from basal 1/4 and near middle extending up and outward to above fold and joined by a wide white streak, below the wide streak and between the two ventral white streaks placed squarely shaped deep ochreous brown spot; termen mottled dark brown, with white spot; apex pointed, with white spot; cilia orange yellow. Hindwing and cilia deep grey. Fore- and midlegs with dorsal surface dark brown, ringed with greyish white on tarsi, ventral surface greyish yellow; hindleg with tibia greyish brown and tarsus dark brown on dorsal surface.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11 – 16 ). Uncus elongate triangular, broad at base, narrowed to pointed apex. Gnathos roughly square, granulated, about half length of lateral arms; lateral arms strong, broad band-shaped. Valva with basal 3/4 nearly parallel-sided dorsoventrally; costa about 2/3 length of sacculus, concave at base, projecting medially, extending to triangular process with narrowly pointed apex. Sacculus narrow and sclerotized, hairy in distal 2/5, produced into a small distal spine directing upward, slightly exceeding apex of cucullus. Saccus shorter than uncus, parallel-sided to rounded apex. Juxta with basal 1/3 club-shaped; lateral lobe with distal half bifurcate and pointed at apex, its outer branch curved, stronger and longer than inner branch, its inner branch thin and straight, about 2/3 as long as outer one. Phallus strong and straight, longer than valva; cornutus small, spiniform, about 1/5 length of phallus.

Female: Unknown.

Diagnosis. This species is close to P. quinilineata sp. nov. and P. similinfulata sp. nov. in superficial characters. It can be distinguished from P. quinilineata sp. nov. by the juxta with distal half of lateral lobe bifurcate and the gnathos roughly square; from P. similinfulata by the sacculus slightly exceeding the tip of costal process and the cornutus at most 1/5 as long as phallus.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin novus (novel) and lobus (lobe), referring to the lateral lobe of juxta.
