Type species: Hoploderma anomala Berlese, 1883

Diagnosis — Body integumental surface usually covered with concavities. Prodorsum with lateral carinae of prodorsum do not extend beyond sinus; furrows present on back of prodorsum. Fifteen pairs of notogastral setae present but neotrichy of gastronotic setae exist. Ventral region; 9 pairs of genital setae present, genital setae g 7-9 located in paraxial margin of plates and nearly in one row with setae g 1-5, setae g 6 remote from paraxial margin; three or four pairs of setae along paraxial margin of anoadanal plates, three of more setae in adanal position. Legs: setae v’ on femora I and setae l’ on genua IV present; setae d of tibiae IV long and independent of solenidia, setae d on femora I usually located at the end of segment.
