Ecology. Endogeic, euryoecious species ( Zuck 1951) occurring in deciduous and coniferous forests as well as on arable and grassland sites, prefers low SOM content (≤ 4%) ( Jänsch et al. 2013).

Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine species, native to the Palaearctic, today also in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia ( Csuzdi & Zicsi 2003).

Distribution in Germany.
