Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 A–H; 15B
Type material. Male holotype from Cerro Uchumachi, 7 km Coroico 1900m (16°15’00”S; 67°21’00”W), La Paz, Bolivia, 24–25.XI.1989, Coddington, Griswold, Larcher, Peñaranda, Silva leg., deposited in USNM; female paratype from Puente Mururata, Coroico 1200m (16°30’00”S; 67°49’60”W), La Paz, Bolivia, 24–26.XI.1894, L. E. Peña leg., deposited in AMNH.
Etymology. The specific name, a noun in apposition, is a tribute to the Andean people Aymara , who lived in the region of Coroico.
Diagnosis. Males of Xiruana aymara n. sp. are easily distinguished from other male forms in the genus by the palp with the posterior region of the median tibial apophysis long and curved at the apex, and by the entire retrolateral tibial apophysis, without posterior branch ( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 D–F). Females resemble those of X. affinis by the posterior border of the epigynum twice as wide as the anterior border, but differ by the inconspicuous atrium and by the copulatory ducts curved anteriorly ( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 G, H).
