The genus Orbella was described by Maldonado (1987) to include three new species. O. adtricolor Maldonado, 1987 and O. lugubris Maldonado, 1987 from Brazil ( Maldonado 1987, 1990) and O. tricolor from French Guiana, Guyana, and Surinam ( Maldonado 1987, 1990) ( Figs. 8 View FIGURE 8 –9). Forero (2006) recorded the presence of O. lugubris in Colombia.

New records. Brazil, Rondônia State.

Material examined: BRAZIL, Rondônia, Ouro Preto d´Oeste [10° 52' S ­ 61° 58' W], 1 male, 03­XI­ 1983, 1 female, 29­X­1983, Johann Becker leg.
