Type material (Ƥ). Holotype: MALAYSIA: Ƥ, “ Malaysia, Sabah, Lahat Datu, Ulu Segama For. Res., Danum Valley Forest Centre, 450 m / N04o58‘ E117o42‘, vii–viii.1998, Primary forest, coll. D. Bebber, Lowland Dipterocarp forest, FIT, OUMNH-2003-050 / [red label] [p] HOLOTYPE Longacerus giraffa sp. n., P. Hlaváč det., 2009” ( OXUM).

Description. Body length 1.39 mm, maximum width of elytra 0.59 mm, whole body, except posterior part of head, shiny, reddish brown, posterior part of head matt, legs and antennae yellowish brown. Head 1.15 times as long as wide, terminal antennomere about 1.5 times as long as wide, with dense, long setae. Pronotum 1.33 times as long as head and about 1.65 times as wide as long. Elytra about 1.25 times as long as abdomen, composite tergite (IV–VI) 5.4 times as long as tergites VII–VIII together, tergite VIII slightly longer than VII.

Sexual dimorphism. Male unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality, Danum Valley Forest Center, Ulu Segama Forest Reserve, Borneo (Sabah).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the very prolonged head posterior to the eyes, resembling a very long giraffe-like neck. This is a unique feature within the Clavigeritae.
