Diagnosis. Blastobasis divulgata is distinguished by the membrane above the proximal flange bearing dense setae on the ventral 1/3, the juxta horizontally subparallel, and the anellus bearing sparse, cone-like setae from the middle to the distal 1/3. It is similar to B. adamskii in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are given in the diagnosis of B. adamskii .

Description. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 4−13 ) forewing length 4.5–6.5 mm. Head: Pale brown, scales tipped with pale yellow. Antenna with scape pale brown on dorsal surface, tipped with grayish white partially, yellowish white on ventral surface; pecten brown; flagellum dark brown, ciliated on ventral surface in male, first flagellomere dilated and notched in male. Labial palpus dark brown, tipped with grayish white partially; second segment grayish white apically; third segment grayish white, mixed with dark brown and grayish brown scales on inner surface, slightly shorter than second segment, pointed at apex. Haustellum dark brown.

Thorax: Nota and tegula dark brown, part scales tipped with pale gray. Forewing brown, with grayish white tipped pale brown scales from near base becoming denser to basal 1/3, forming a grayish white fascia extending from basal 1/3 below costa to dorsum, with dense dark brown scales along its outer margin, with dark brown scales intermixed with grayish white tipped brown scales on distal 2/3; discocellular and tornal spots black; fringe grayish brown, intermixed with dark brown scales tipped with grayish white. Hindwing and fringe grayish brown at base, becoming darker to apex. Legs with dorsal surface grayish white except tarsus dark brown; ventral surface dark brown, part scales tipped with grayish white; all tibiae and tarsomeres grayish white at apex.

Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 18−20 ) with uncus wide at base, narrowed to basal 2/5, parallel-sided from basal 2/5 to distal 1/5, then gradually narrowed to rounded apex, slightly curved ventrad, sparsely setose. Gnathos produced and with one or two small denticles medially on posterior margin ( Figs. 20 View FIGURES 18−20 a-b). Dorsal part of valva with costal process near uniform, rounded apically, from costa uniformly extending ventrad to proximal flange, sclerotized along outer edge to proximal flange; proximal flange with ventro-apical corner rounded, membrane above proximal flange with microtrichiae on dorsal 2/3 and with dense setae on ventral 1/3. Ventral part of valva with basal 4/7 broad, nearly parallel-sided, then narrowed to basal 3/4; distal 1/4 produced to a strong spine-like process, curving inward, setose, rounded apically; sacculus almost uniformly wide, setose on distal 3/5. Juxta a transverse band, nearly parallel-sided. Vinculum a wide band. Phallus nearly as long as valva, curved ventrad, almost uniformly wide from base to basal 3/5, then gradually narrowed to apex; internal sclerite slightly curved ventrad at middle; anellus bearing sparse cone-like setae from middle to distal 1/3. Female genitalia ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 27−30 ) with apophyses posteriores approximately 2.5 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth tergum with a darkly pigmented longitudinal median streak. Intersegmental membrane posterior to seventh segment with a sub-oval area of dense microtrichiae flanking ostium. Seventh tergum nearly straight on posterior margin, sternum broadly concave in arc-shape on posterior margin. Ductus bursae approximately 3 times length of corpus bursae; internal wall with overlapping platelets on anterior 1/2, becoming denser toward corpus bursae; ductus seminalis arising from ductus bursae proximal to ostium. Corpus bursae oval, with dense granules; signum arising from posterior 1/3 of corpus bursae, horn-shaped, with a sclerotized subtriangular (from frontal view) basal plate.

Distribution. China (Anhui, Chongqing, Guangdong, Henan, Hubei, Hong Kong, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin divulgatus (widespread), referring to the wide geographic distribution of this new species in China.
