( Figs. 21–24 View FIGURES 21–24 )

Material examined. Holotype ♂: Australia, New South Wales, Dooragan N. P., Nth Brother Mtn , 450 m, subtrop. rainforest, 14–28–i–1999, malaise trap, G. Williams ( AM); specimen in 70% ethanol, therefore bleached, terminalia preserved (glycerol) in microvial in glassvial together with specimen . Paratypes: Australia, New South Wales, Dooragan N. P., N. Brother Mtn, 450 m, subtrop. rainforest, malaise trap, G. Williams: 1 ♀, 14–28–i–1999 , 1 ♂, 14–28–ii–1999, 1 ♂, 1 ♀, 1–30–iii–1999 and 2 ♂ Ƌ, 7 ♀♀, 25–xi–24–xii–1999 ( AM) .

Description. Male ( Figs. 21, 22 View FIGURES 21–24 ). Head. Dark yellowish brown to greyish brown, only scape and pedicel brownish yellow.Antenna pale brown, 1.5–1.8 mm long; pedicel shorter than flagellomeres; f1 slenderly conical, f3 about four times as long as wide; verticils shorter than flagellomeres; some short and dense pubescence.

Thorax. Largely dark yellowish brown. Legs brownish yellow; last tarsal segment plus claws somewhat darkened.

Wing. Membrane slightly suffused with pale brownish yellow. Vein R 3 long and distinctly oblique; veins R 4 and R 5 parallel or almost so; all branches of M almost straight; vein A 2 very slightly sinuous and short, ending well before level origin of Rs; anal angle not very distinct. Halter pale yellowish brown.

Abdomen. Yellowish brown to pale greyish brown, segment 8 and part of segments 7 and 9 darker brown.

Terminalia. Gonocoxite approximately three times as long as wide. Outer gonostylus almost as long as gonocoxite, almost straight, slightly expanded basally and apically, otherwise parallel sided and at least twice as long and slightly thicker than the subconical inner gonostylus that bears several setae, at least one rather thick apically. Interbase pointed, rather strongly bowed. Vesica narrowing gradually into narrow truncate aedeagus; apodeme of vesica rather long, slim, rod-like.

Dimensions. Wing length 3.5–3.7 mm.

Female ( Figs. 23, 24 View FIGURES 21–24 ). Head. Much as in male. Antennae 1.3–1.4 mm long, otherwise similar to male.

Thorax, Wing and Abdomen. Much as in male, but no darkening of terminal abdominal segments.

Terminalia. Cerci long, thin, slightly and evenly curved dorsally.

Dimensions. Wing length 4.2–4.9 mm.

Distribution. South-eastern: New South Wales ( Map 1 View MAP 1 ).

Etymology. Latinized adjective for the species’ occurrence in Dooragan National Park.

Discussion. R. (R.) dooragana stands out from all consubgeneric species known from Australia by vein R 3 rather long and oblique, veins R 4 and R 5 running almost parallel to each other, all branches of M rather straight, the male in addition by long straight outer gonostyli and inner gonostyli of similar width and only half as long and by distinctly bowed interbases. The moderately long antennae (1.2–1.8 mm) with moderately long and wide flagellomeres (f3 about four times as long as wide) come close only to R. (R.) ponticulus .
