Type species. Skogsbergiella spinifera ( Skogsberg, 1920)
Composition. Genus Skogsbergiella includes 9 species of which S. spinifera ( Skogsberg, 1920) , S. skogsbergi ( Kornicker, 1971) , S. plocus Kornicker, 1975 , S pax Kornicker, 1975 , S. scotti Kornicker, 1975 , S. macrothrix Kornicker, 1975 , S. species Hartmann, 1991 and S. senex Kornicker, 1996 (in: Kornicker & Poore, 1996) are known from the Southern Ocean, and only S. inermis Chavtur, 1983 is described from the North Pacific. Skogsbergiella tetrathrix sp. nov. was collected from the Drake Passage and Weddell Sea.
Distribution. Species of this genus live between 55°N – 75°S and in depths ranging from 6 to 3431 m (including our data).
