Synonyms. Biosteres palaearcticus Szépligeti, 1901  ; Opius castaneiventris (Thomson, 1895)  . Distribution in Turkey. Zonguldak (Fischer & Beyarslan, 2005 a); Amasya, Gümüşhane, Samsun (Beyarslan & Fischer, 2011).

Distribution. Palaearctic. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Canada-Ontario, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, U.S.A., United Kingdom, Yugoslavia.

Hosts. Diptera  . Anthomyiidae  : Pegomyia bicolor (Wiedemann, 1817)  ; P. holosteae (Hering, 1924)  [ Stellaria holostea  ]; P. solennis (Meigen, 1826)  [ Rumex  ].
