Measurements (in mm). Male: SZ 6.49, PR 0.92, HF 4.53; Female: SZ 6.97–7.58/12.08–12.89, PR 0.92–1.03, HF 5.42–5.93, OV 3.47–4.3.

Distribution. China (Zhejiang, Shanghai), Japan.

Remarks. Both long and short wing forms exist in this species ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Their head, thorax and veins are similar ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ), but tympana are varied. We found only female individuals in long wing form. They have inner tympana, and outer ones are very small ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A-3). In short wing form, males have none tympanum on both sides ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A-1); some female individuals have small inner tympana (hind wing shed individuals?), and others have none tympanum as males ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A-2). Discussion of phylogenetics for this subgenus and species see remarks of Amusurgus bispinosus .
