Material examined. Holotype ♀: México: Hidalgo, Tlanchinol, La cabaña, arroyo lento, N 21°01′19.5″, W 98°38′45.1″, 1520 m, MT, 17–30.VI.2005, leg. A. Contreras et al. ( UNAM). GoogleMaps

Description. Female. Fore wing length 2.9 mm.

Face medially 1.2 × as wide as high; polished, with scattered papillae and some horizontal striae, eyes not setose, dorsal ridge of face inbetween antennal sockets without a prominence; orbits slightly divergent ventrally; face profile slightly rounded, edge of clypeus rounded, slightly impressed, antennal sockets not on a distinct high shelf (Hw/Fp = 9.2); subocular sulcus distinct, nearly straight; maxillary palp reaching slightly beyond fore coxa. In dorsal view, head posteriorly strongly concave, temples distinct, protruding posterior to eye, about 0.35 × eye width, posterior ocellus separated from eye by 1.0 × ocellar diameter, anterior ocellus separated from eye by 2.0 × ocellar diameter, ocellar-ocular grooves absent. Minimum distance between antennal sockets about 2/3 diameter of socket; antennae with 23 flagellomeres, which gradually slightly shortening towards apex of antenna and covered by conspicuous setae; basal flagellomere about 2.0 × as long as apically wide and basal flagellomere about 2/3 of the length of scape; scape with internal surface slightly convex, outer side nearly straight.

Mesosoma polished except for inconspicuous punctation on mesoscutum and pronotum with short weak striae postero-ventrally; propodeum with coriaceous microsculpture; mesoscutum with notauli; in profile, scutellum not particularly high, metapleuron moderately convex; propodeum with posterior transverse carina complete; median longitudinal carinae complete, lateral longitudinal carinae complete, spiracles medium-sized.

Legs moderately broad; coxae and femora polished, femora with inconspicuous alutaceous-coriaceous sculpture, tibiae and tarsi coriaceous-granulate; hind coxa as long as first tergite, hind femur 3.0 × as long as high, hind tibia stout, 3.7 × as long as apically wide; tibiae with spine-like setae.

Wings not particularly narrow; fore wing without areolet, vein Rs upcurved; hind wing with nervellus intercepted at lower third.

First tergite elongate, 1.7 × as long as apically wide; coriaceous, with distinct median longitudinal carinae, with transverse impressions originating at about middle of tergite, sloping posteriorly, not meeting centrally. Second tergite nearly as long as apically wide; coriaceous; median longitudinal carinae of first tergite continuing onto base of second tergite, with anterolateral diagonal impressions connected with more shallow angular posterior transverse groove, forming a somewhat oval uplifted median area; basal thyridia large, round, contrastingly coloured; second thyridia small and indistinct, same colour as surrounding cuticle. Remainder of metasoma impunctate, without thyridia, except third tergite smoothly coriaceous in basal third. Ovipositor thin and straight, without dorsal notch; ovipositor sheath pointed, with sparse, backwards-directed setae.

Body largely setose except eyes, pronotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron, setae scattered on metasoma and posterior coxae.

Brown except face, clypeus, malar space, antenna ventrally yellow; inner orbits to the level of posterior ocelli, mouthparts, tegula, fore and mid coxae, trochanters, trochantelli and sternites yellowish creamy; propleuron, pronotum ventrally, subalar prominence, mesosternum, yellow to light brown; hind coxa brown, hind femur infuscate in apical half, hind tibia with basal band yellowish and fuscous dorsal surface; posterior third of first tergite, posterior margin of second tergite and rest of metasoma from third tergite reddish-brown.

Male. Unknown.

Biology. Hosts unknown.

Distribution. Mexico (Hidalgo).

Etymology. Named after A. Contreras (UNAM), collected the only known specimen of this species.

Comments. Compared with the other species that have completely papillate face, antennal sockets usually on a distinct but low shelf, and glabrous eyes, fore wing with areolet open, face horizontally strigose; antenna with 23 flagellomeres, unlike in O. scabrosus ; pterostigma nearly symmetrical and basal flagellomere 2.0 × as long as wide, unlike in O. flavoorbitalis and O. rhombifer .
