Type depository. Holotype ( HLMD).

Type locality. Yemen: Socotra, Homhil, ca. 500 m, 12°34'13''N, 54°18'32''E.

Distribution. Yemen ( Socotra island).

Literature. Geisthardt (2003): original description; Bocak (2007) catalogue; Geisthardt (2009): comparison with S. sweihana Geisthardt, 2009 ; Kundrata (2012b): comparison with S. socotrana Kundrata, 2012b , discussion on the systematic placement.

Remarks. This species is being provisionally kept in Selasia , although the external morphology (e.g., mouthparts, antennae, pronotum) and the shape of male genitalia suggest its position outside of Drilini ( Kundrata 2012b) .
