Sarcophaga piva Roback, 1952 

Morphological characters. Gena with setulae mostly yellow/white. Occiput with at least one row of black setulae behind the ocular setae, with setulae only yellow/white ventrally. Prescutellar acrostichal setae present. Proepisternum uniformly setulose, with setulae only black. Males with long setulae on the hind tibia. Some males with median marginal setae on the 3 rd abdominal tergite. In males, median patch of dense setae present at the base of the 4 th abdominal sternite. Body length greater than 15 mm.

Geographical distribution. Australia (Queensland)—AUSTRALASIAN/OCEANIAN.

Biology. Sarcophaga piva  has been collected at decayed-carrion baits by KAM.

Taxonomy. DNAAbout DNA barcode sequences of S. piva  have been deposited in both GenBank and BOLD.
