Diagnosis. Frons and head narrowed. Ventral interfrontal seta nearly vertically below ventral fronto­orbital seta (except in M. simotris ). Foretarsal claws smoothly curved, without basal lobe. Abdomen of at least some species with dorsomedial membranous process (possibly a gland) posterior to tergite 6. Ovipositor elongate, densely setose (less so in M. simotris ), curved dorsally.

Included species. Melaloncha digitalis , M. immaculata , M. simotris , and M. xanthocauda .
