Diagnosis. Frons and head narrowed. Ventral interfrontal seta nearly vertically below ventral frontoorbital seta (except in M. simotris ). Foretarsal claws smoothly curved, without basal lobe. Abdomen of at least some species with dorsomedial membranous process (possibly a gland) posterior to tergite 6. Ovipositor elongate, densely setose (less so in M. simotris ), curved dorsally.
Included species. Melaloncha digitalis , M. immaculata , M. simotris , and M. xanthocauda .
