Notes:— In the course of this study C. toqueve was collected only once and sterile. No collections of it were found for Rio Grande do Norte in the consulted herbaria and no specimens reviewed from other areas were fertile. The above description, therefore, is based mainly on earlier publications ( Fresenius 1857 –1864, Miller et al. 1998). Illustrations of this species can be found in Miller et al. (1998).

Geographic distribution:— This species is widely distributed, occurring in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, French Guyana, Venezuela, and Brazil (Tropicos continuously updated). In Brazil found in the North, Northeast, and Midwest regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020 under construction). D2.

Habitat:— Borders of the Seasonal Forest.

Phenology:— Collected sterile.
