3.12. Syringodium View in CoL (2, Cymodoceaceae, Indian and Western Pacific Oceans and Caribbean)

Harborne and Williams (1976) reported on the occurrence of partially characterized sulfated caffeoyl quinic acid derivatives in S. filiforme collected off the coast of Jamaica. Moreover, these authors detected (as in P. oceanica ) the presence of procyanidins in this taxon. Only the compound class but no defined natural products were detected and therefore no compound number can be assigned here.

Nussier et al. (2010) identified cichoric acid 36 and caftaric acid 35 as the main phenolics in fresh leaves and detritus of leaves from S. filiforme . Additionally, traces of tartaric acid derivatives 33–34 and 37–38 and traces of simple phenolic acids 10, 14, 24, and 28 were detected by HPLC-DAD-MS.
