Key to the genera of Aspidimerini of the Indian Subcontinent

1. Form moderately large and robust (2.80–6.00 mm long). Prosternum evenly convex; carinae wide apart and anteriorly divergent; area between carinae convex and anteriorly widened to form a chin band ( Fig. 3g ).................. Aspidimerus Mulsant

- Form distinctly smaller and less robust (<3.00mm long). Prosternum flat at least on the sides external to carinae, which always meet and enclose a flat area, not forming a chin band ( Fig. 3d–f )................................................ 2

2. Prosternal fold absent ( Fig. 3d ). Prosternal carinae joined together a little before or at the anterior area, forming an inverted Y-shaped, triangular or subtriangular area............................................ Trigonocarinatus Huo et Ren

3. Antennal club fusiform, terminal antennomere conical, as long as penultimate antennomere ( Fig. 2d ). Prosternal carinae subparallel, enclosing a subquadrate to rectangular area between them, which lies at a slightly but distinctly higher level than lateral parts of prosternum ( Fig. 3e, f ). - Antennal club clavate, terminal antennomere rounded, distinctly shorter than penultimate one ( Fig. 2c ). Prosternal carinae variable in outline ( Fig. 3b, c ), area enclosed between them lying at the same level as the rest of prosternum, which is flat; area outside the carinae triangular.
