Diagnosis. Protomorgania koebelei is currently the only species described within the genus. It is described with the following combination of morphological characters: perispiracular pore clusters associated with both the anterior and posterior pair of spiracles; dorsum of pygidium finely stippled, not reticulate; only one pair of pygidial lobes (L 1) present, which are appressed, contiguous and joined basally; a single simple plate present on pygidium between L 1 and the position of the L 2 seta.
