One (R 37– 33 mm, r 9.9 mm, R: r 3.7–3.3), Dry specimen, Xiaoping Island, SW Dalian; Two (R 39– 35 mm, r 10.5 mm, R: r 3.7–3.3; R 39– 34 mm, r 12.4 mm, R: r 3.1–2.7), MBM175718, CN Y36B-32, 28 Jan 1959; One (R 36– 34 mm, r 10.2 mm, R: r 3.5–3.3), Dry specimen, 54m, sandy mud, 28 Jan 1959; One (R 31– 29 mm, r 8.5 mm, R: r 3.6–3.4), Dry specimen, CN Y0205, Stn. Y205, 38°26ʹN, 121°34ʹE, 54m, 26 Jul 1957.
Distribution. Yellow Sea, Okhotsk Sea, Sakhalin, Kurile Island, 54– 300m.
Remarks. This subspecies is recognized by its sturdy body form ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A). Arms are short and swollen, constricted at base; abactinal skeletons ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 E) form a wide meshwork with large and sunken papular area; 3 to 8 small and sharp spinelets are generally arranged in comb-shape ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C) along the ridge surrounding papular areas. Specimens examined exactly agree with the description of Henricia aspera robusta by Chang et al. (1964).
