Carrera & d’Andretta, 1950: 314-317 (original description); 315, figure 41 (wing), 42 (aedeagus and lateral plates), 43 (9th sternite of male genitalia), 44 (male genitalia in lateral view), 45 (9th tergite and anal plates of male terminalia), 46 (8th sternite of female genitalia), 47 (female genitalia in lateral view) and 48 (egg).

Type locality: Nova Teutônia, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscription on white paper: “ Sta. [Santa] Catarina | NOVA TEUTONIA | V – 1948 | F. Plaumann col.”; (2) printed on white paper: “111.177”; (3) printed on red paper: “HOLOTIPO”; (4) handwritten on white paper: “ Systropus | oldroydi n. sp | Det: Carrera et | Andretta 1950 ”.

Preservation: Pinned; Missing parts: left leg II.

Allotype female with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscription on white paper: “ Sta. [Santa] Catarina | NOVA TEUTONIA | V – 1948 | F. Plaumann col.”; (2) printed on white paper: “111.178”; (3) printed on red paper: “ALLOTIPO”; (4) handwritten on white paper: “ Systropus | oldroydi n. sp | Det: Carrera et | Andretta 1950 ”.

Preservation: Pinned; both flagellum glued at the first label; Missing parts: genitalia, left tarsus of leg III.
