Tapiena quadridens Liu & Xia, 1996 , Acta Zootaxonomica Sinica, 21(2): 197; (Holotype M, origi. descrip.; type locality: Jinghong, Yunnan, China; type deposited in MSIE, Shanghai).

Material examined. 1 male (Holotype), China: Yunnan Prov.: Jinghong, Jinuo, 1991. IX.8, Coll. Liu Zuyao, Wang Tianqi & Yin Haisheng ( MSIE); 1 male, China: Yunnan Prov.: Simao District: Caiyanghe nature reserve, 1400m (at light), 2004. VIII.24, Coll. Liu Chunxiang ( IZAS).

Redescription. Male (holotype). Male stridulatory file on underside of left tegmen with about 150 fine teeth ( Fig. 4a View FIGURE 4. a, d – j, T ). Tenth abdominal tergum large, wide, abruptly tapering near apex, with four teeth at apical margin ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. a, d – j, T f); strongly deflexed in distal part in lateral view ( Fig. 4d View FIGURE 4. a, d – j, T ). Cerci robust; interior margin strongly inflated from middle, and distinctly concave in distal part; apex shaped into a wide compressed tooth ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. a, d – j, T f). Subgenital plate widest at base, distinctly narrowed towards apex; split from apical fourth into two lateral lobes, notch between triangular, as long as one fifth length of subgenital plate; styli slender, as long as two thirds length of subgenital plate ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. a, d – j, T e).

Female. Unknown.

Coloration. Yellowish green (maybe green at alive). Compound eyes dark brown. Pronotum yellowish green. Wings lightly green. Each lateral surface of anterior femur with a series of black spots on upper and middle areas, separately. Spine of cerci darkly brown.

Measurements of male (mm). Length of body 20.0; length of pronotum 4.8; length of tegmen 33.0; largest width of tegmen 7.5; length of hind wing 37.0; length of posterior femur 16.2.

Distribution. China (Yunnan Prov.).
