This species has been cited for Bulgaria (HIEKE & WRASE 1988: 54, GUÉORGUIEV & GUÉORGUIEV 1995: 108; GUÉORGUIEV 1999: 71 as B. stephensi stephensi & B. grandipenne grandipenne, misidentification), but after that was omitted for the country (CATPAL 1: MARGGI et al. 2003: 259). B. stephensi is confirmed for Bulgaria.
