Antennae of adults have 19 to 24 articles (5 antennae with 19 articles, 18 with 20, 32 with 21, 38 with 22, 11 with 23, and 7 with 24), those of juveniles have 22 or 23 articles (4 antennae with 22 articles and 3 with 23). The bacilliform sensillum is between macrochaetae b and c on the third article (dorsal position) in most of the specimens. However, some specimens from Diyarbakır and Çermikhaving have a small ventral sensillum instead of the dorsal sensillum as in populations from the Iberian Peninsula. In some Batman specimens the cercal macrochaetae and setae are long, unlike the usual chaetotaxy of this species, with short macrochaetae and several setae. This species is frequent in central and eastern Anatolia. The variability of the current specimens as well as those previously examined (Sendra et al. 2006), suggests that the Anatolian populations may be distinct from those of the western Mediterranean region.
