Type species. Terepeltopes dolichorhunia Hirayama, 1983 by monotypy.

Essential diagnosis. Pleonite 3 unproduced posterodorsally. Urosomite 1 dorsally keeled and vaulted over urosomite 3; urosomite 3 without projection. Antenna 1 thick, peduncular article 2 uncuspidate. Mandible, molar large, triturative; palp 3-articulated. Maxilla 1, palp 1-articulated. Gnathopod 1 small, simple, posterodistal corner of carpus projected, propodus rectangular; gnathopod 2 small, subchelate, posterodistal corner of carpus projected, palm short, oblique. Pereopods, bases of pereopods 5–6 rectolinear, basis of pereopod 7 fully expanded. Telson short, not reaching apex of uropod 3 peduncle.
