Problepsis subreferta Prout, 1935 , in Seitz, Macrolepid. World, 4 (Suppl.): 33, pl. 4: f. Syntypes 4 ♂, China: Tse-ku [Yunnan] ( NHM).

Diagnosis. The species is very close to P. batangnensis sp. nov., but is different in the following characters: the male pectinations are rudimentary (the longest ones are much shorter than the diameter of the shaft); the hind tarsus of the male is shorter than one-half length of the tibia, while in P. batangnensis sp. nov., it is shorter, about twosevenths to three-sevenths length of the tibia; the outer margin of the ocellus of each wings is smooth, but in P. batangnensis sp. nov, it forms two small protrusions on the forewing and one protrusion on the hindwing; in the male genitalia, the anterior margin of the juxta is free from the sacculus, while it is fused to the sacculus in P. batangnensis sp. nov., and the basal part of the valvula is narrower; the apical teeth of the aedeagus and the central process of the male eighth sternite are smaller.

Material examined. CHINA: Yunnan ( IZCAS): 1 ♂, Li-kiang, 31.V.1934, coll. H. Höne (presented by D. Stüning), IZCAS slide no. Geom-03417.
