Description. Adult ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 52 – 59 ) wingspan 11.0̄13.0 mm.

Variation. In specimens from Xizang the forewing is tinged with blackish fuscous along the basal 1/3 of the costa, and the inverted V-shaped black pattern barely reaches the termen ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 52 – 59 ).

Host plants: Malus baccata (Linn.) Borkh. , M. sieboldii (Regel) Rehder , M. pumila Miller (Rosaceae) ; Corylus avellana Linn. (Betulaceae) ( Moriuti 1977. Liu 1981. Agassiz 1996).

Distribution. China (Beijing, Gansu, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Xizang), Europe, Russia, Japan, Korea.

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the forewing having an inverted V-shaped blackish fuscous pattern on distal 2/3. The diagnosis is given under A. (A.) basistriata , sp. nov.
