Diagnosis. Forewing length is 8.5– 10 mm in males and 10.5– 12 mm in females. The species is highly variable in its size and forewing width. However, the male genitalia are uniform in all the populations examined. The male genitalia of H. pseudolutara are most similar to those of H. kutzscheri sp. n., but differ by the less elongate distal saccular process, more massive aedeagus, narrower distal chamber of aedeagus vesica, and much larger distal diverticulum. The female genitalia of H. pseudolutara differ from those of H. kutzscheri sp. n. by the broader ductus bursae, narrower corpus bursae, larger spines at the junction of the corpus bursae with ductus bursae, weaker scobination of the anterior section of corpus bursae, and sclerotized basal section of appendix bursae.

Distribution. Nepal, northeastern India (Mizoram and Assam), northern Myanmar (Kachin State), southwestern China (Yunnan Province), North Thailand (Chiang Mai, Lampang, Nan and Mae Hong Son Provinces) ( Černý & Pinratana 2009, as Lyclene unguifera , part) and North Vietnam (Hòa Bình, Vĩnh Phúc and Lào Cai Provinces).
