Diagnosis
The closest species to C. hamatra sp. nov. is C. makiorum sp. nov. The tergum X of these two species are relatively small (as in C. jejyorum sp. nov. and in C. gattolliati sp. nov.) but, their inferior appendages are roughly rectangular and not triangular or L-shaped as in all the other species of the group. Moreover, these appendages have a distinct and heavily sclerotized supplementary branch on the distal edge. This branch is inserted at mid-height in C. hamatra sp. nov. ( Fig. 10A View Fig ), whereas almost apically in C. makiorum sp. nov. ( Fig. 11A View Fig ).
Etymology
The name is a Malagasy adjective that means ‘uncommon’.
