Type­species: Steringovermes notacanthi n. sp.

Diagnosis: Body oval to fusiform. Tegument smooth. Oral sucker oval, subterminal. Ventral sucker in mid­body, oval, larger than oral sucker. Prepharynx absent. Pharynx large, elongate oval. Oesophagus short. Intestinal bifurcation in mid­forebody. Caeca blind, reaching to mid­post­testicular region. Testes two, oval, entire or irregular, symmetrical, overlapping posterior edge of ventral sucker, pre­ovarian. Cirrus­sac large, oval. Seminal vesicle, bipartite, distal moiety with thicker wall. Pars prostatica wide. Ejaculatory duct large, wide, pocketed. Genital atrium large. Genital pore antero­sinistral to ventral sucker. Ovary multilobate, postero­median to and contiguous with testes. Mehlis' gland large, ventral to ovary. Laurer's canal opens dorsally at level of posterior ovary. Uterine seminal receptacle present. Uterus fills much of hind­body. Eggs small, tanned. Metraterm narrow, enters genital atrium through posterior wall. Vitellarium follicular, in lateral bands from bifurcal level to ovarian level. Excretory pore terminal. Excretory vesicle V­shaped; arms reach oral sucker.
