Description and synonymy in Van Name 1945 Station: AM 0 1 (MNHN S1 BOT.A 39)

This shallow water species has a worldwide distribution in tropical waters (Sheets et al 2016) and has been often recorded in the West Indies region. Van Name (1945) wrote a complete description of the anatomical characters and figures were made by Monniot C. (1983) for Guadeloupe specimens. The Martinique samples were collected on sea grass in Fort de France Bay.
