Troglophilous and euedaphic species that has been found in forest humus of the Basque Country and Sierra de Gredos and in caves of Araba and Navarra ( Jordana & Beruete 1983 as O. cancellatus, Arbea & Jordana 1991 , Jordana et al. 1997, Beruete 2000a, 2000b, Beruete et al. 2002) and from Gipuzkoa ( Galán 1993 as O. cancellatus ). In these caves it appears on the surface of gours and puddles, on highly decomposed plant remains and on insectivore droppings.
