Diagnosis. Face pale yellow, without spot. Antenna black. A pale brown triangular spot present between antenna and eye. Mid and hind tibiae each with an incomplete brown basal ring. Wing with a pale brown elliptical spot on dm-cu. Abdominal pale yellow, tergites 3–5 each with a brownish black posterior band and tergite 6 without spot.

Description. MALE. Body length 3.8 mm, wing length 4.1 mm. FEMALE. Body length 4.1–4.4 mm, wing length 4.2–4.3 mm.

Head pale yellow. Face pale yellow, without spot. Frons yellow, about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with two narrow blackish gray stripes along or rows and a narrow brown triangular median stripe, extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle grayish black; oc broken, anterior or shorter than posterior or. Gena about 1/6 height of eye. Occiput with a wide grayish black stripe confluent with ocellar triangle. Antenna black, 1st flagellomere 1.5 times longer than high; arista long plumose, black except for brownish base, with longest hairs as long as height of 1st flagellomere. A pale brown triangular spot present between antenna and eye. Proboscis yellow except blackish brown at tip, with yellowish or blackish hairs; palpus pale yellow with blackish hairs.

Thorax brown with whitish gray pollen. Mesoscutum with 0+3 dc (anterior dc clearly behind transverse scutal suture), acr in 8 rows; prsc as long as 1st post–sutural dc. Anepisternum and katepisternum pale yellow, with whitish gray pollen; also each with a large pale grayish brown median spot. Scutellum brown except pale yellow apical margin, with whitish gray pollen. Legs mostly pale yellow, except all tarsi dark yellow, tarsomeres 3–4 brownish yellow and tarsomere 5 brownish black on apical 1/2; mid and hind tibiae each with an incomplete brown basal ring. Fore femur with 4 strong pv and 6 pd, ctenidium with 11 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4–5 a and 1 apv; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) hyaline, with a narrow brown stripe on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 2.2 mm: 0.7 mm: 0.4 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.5 mm: 1.8 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.

Abdomen pale yellow, tergites 3–5 each with a brownish black posterior band, tergite 6 without spot. Male genitalia ( Figs. 52–56 View FIGURES 52 – 56 ): protandrium broken; epandrium nearly V–shaped with a deep posterior dorsal median incision in posterior view, surstylus consisting of a broad hairy digitiform process and a narrow curved bar–like process; hypandrium with a pair of wide claviform ventral process, hypandrial apodeme indistinct; gonopod columniform; aedeagus broad, with a pair of lateral concave at base, a pair of acuate lateral processes and a pair of wide S–shaped and furcated dorsoapical processes on dorsal sclerites; aedeagal apodeme very short.

Type material. Holotype 3 ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Changjiang, Bawangling National Nature Reserve, Donger station (1000 m), 24. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang. Paratypes: CHINA, Hainan Province: 1 Ƥ ( CAUC), data same as holotype; 1 Ƥ ( CAUC), Changjiang, Bawangling National Nature Reserve, Donger station (1000 m), 24. V. 2007, Junhua Zhang.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Remarks. The new species is very similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) columnaria sp. nov. from China (Hainan) in the following characters: antenna black, tarsomere 5 brown at apical 1/2–2/3, wing with a pale brown spot on dm-cu, tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band; surstylus consisting of a broad hairy digitiform process and a narrow curved bar–like process; aedeagus with a pair of acuate lateral processes and a pair of furcated dorsoapical processes. But it can be separated from the latter by the face being pale yellow without spot, the mesoscutum having acr in 8 rows, the abdominal tergite 6 having no spot; the hypandrium having a pair of wide claviform ventral processes, the hypandrial apodeme being indistinct; the aedeagus having a pair of wide S–shaped and furcated dorsoapical processes on dorsal sclerites, the aedeagal apodeme being shorter than the aedeagus. In H. (H.) columnaria , the face is pale yellow with a pair of blackish brown elliptical median spots, the mesoscutum has acr in 6 rows; the abdominal tergite 6 has a small brown median spot; the hypandrium has a pair of narrow claviform ventral processes, the hypandrial apodeme is distinct; the aedeagus has a pair of furcated dorsoapical processes on dorsal sclerites and the furcated dorsoapical processes is constricted subapically, the aedeagal apodeme is geniculate, longer than the aedeagus.

Etymology. Latin, tort-, prefix meaning contorted + furcata, meaning furcate or fork–like, referring to the aedeagus having a pair of contorted and furcated dorsoapical processes; a feminine adjective.
