( Figs. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 11 , 62–66 View FIGURES 62 – 66 )

Diagnosis. Face pale yellow, without spot. Antenna black except 1st flagellomere pale yellow on basal 1/3–1/ 2. All legs with tarsomere 5 brownish black on apical 1/3. Wing hyaline without spot. Abdomen yellow, tergites 3–5 each with a black median spot and a pair of black lateral bands, and tergite 6 with a black median spot.

Description. MALE. Body length 3.6–3.9 mm, wing length 3.6–3.9 mm.

Head pale yellow. Face pale yellow, without spot. Frons yellow, about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with two narrow grayish brown stripes along or rows and a narrow brown triangular median stripe, extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle grayish black; oc strong, as long as anterior or, anterior or shorter than posterior or. Gena about 1/5 height of eye. Occiput with a wide brownish yellow stripe confluent with ocellar triangle. Antenna black except 1st flagellomere pale yellow on basal 1/3–1/2, 1st flagellomere 2.0 times longer than high; arista long plumose, black except for brownish base, with longest hairs longer than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish and blackish hairs; palpus pale yellow with blackish hairs.

Thorax brown with whitish gray pollen. Mesoscutum with 0+3 dc (anterior dc clearly behind transverse scutal suture), acr in 8 rows; prsc shorter than 1st post–sutural dc. Anepisternum and katepisternum pale yellow, with whitish gray pollen, and each with a large grayish black spot. Scutellum brown except pale yellow margin, with whitish gray pollen. Legs mostly pale yellow, but all tarsi dark yellow except tarsomeres 3–4 tinged brownish yellow and tarsomere 5 brownish black on apical 1/3; hind tibia with an incomplete brown basal ring. Fore femur with 4 strong pv and 6 pd, ctenidium with 11 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4–5 a and 1 apv; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) hyaline without spot; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 1.9 mm: 0.6 mm: 0.3 mm; r-m at middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.2 mm: 1.6 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/6 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.

Abdomen yellow, with sparse silvery white pollen; tergites 3–5 each with a black median spot and a pair of black lateral bands, and tergite 6 with a black median spot. Male genitalia ( Figs. 62–66 View FIGURES 62 – 66 ): protandrium circular; epandrium slender in lateral view but nearly V–shaped in posterior view, surstylus knife–like in lateral view but slightly hooked in posterior view; hypandrium with a pair of lobate ventral sclerites, hypandrial apodeme distinct; gonopod columniform; aedeagus slender, obliquely truncate at tip with a small acuate process, and a wide apical incision.

FEMALE. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype 3 ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Baisha, Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village (430 m), 22. V. 2007, Junhua Zhang. Paratypes: CHINA, Hainan Province: 1 3 ( CAUC), data same as holotype; 1 3 ( CAUC), Wuzhishan National Nature Reserve, Guanjingtai (600 m), 18. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) fasciventris Malloch from China in the face yellow without spot, antennal 1st flagellomere dark except yellow on basal 1/3–1/2, wing clear without spot, mesoscutum wih acr in 8 rows, and tergites 6 with a brown or black median spot. But it can be separated from the latter by the wing being hyaline without spot; the abdominal tergites 3–5 each having a black median spot and a pair of black lateral bands; the surstylus being knife–like in lateral view. In H. (H.) fasciventris , the abdominal tergites 3–5 have an entirely blackish brown posterior band and a brown triangular median spot, and the brown triangular median spot is confluent with the blackish brown posterior band; the surstylus is claw–like in lateral view ( Malloch 1927, 1929; Sasakawa 1992).

Etymology. The species is named after the collectors Junhua Zhang and Kuiyan Zhang.
