, TL: ‘europäischen Türkei’, (precise location undetermined but nomenclature suggests the Rhodope Mountains, Greece / Bulgaria);

similar in wingspan to evanescens, males 41–45mm, females 44–49mm, ground colour dark as in the nominotypical form with heavy black markings on both fore and hindwings, melanic females common ( Figs 13, 14 View FIGURES 6–14 ).
