Type locality. Java, monts Tengger , dans la région orientale, à 2000 metres d’altitude [= Indonesia, East Java, Tengger Mts.].

Diagnosis. Medium sized, elongate oval species (body length 4.0– 4.4 mm). Elytra with elytral subbasal testaceous band complete, its anterior margin almost rectilinear ( Fig. 8 View Figs ). Apical part of median lobe rather long, in lateral view with dorsal side only very slightly curved ( Fig. 25 View Figs ).

Distribution. Laccophilus javanicus is recorded from the Indonesian Islands of Java, Bali and Sumbawa ( Brancucci, 1983; Hendrich & Balke, 1995). We here add records from Lombok Island ( Fig. 41 View Figs ). However we question the occurrence of L. javanicus on Sumbawa. The known specimen, a female in NHMB, differs in elytral sculpture and colouration; it probably represents another species, but a single female cannot be reliably identified.
