Etymology. This is the largest and most slender species of the genus that I have seen in Australia, reminiscent of some Trathala species, and thus obtains the name " gracilis ".

Description. Fore wing length 8.2–9.8 mm (holotype: 8.2 mm). Antenna broken in the female holotype, with 43 flagellomeres in the male paratype. Mesoscutum with only a few punctures along front margin and sometimes along notauli. Scutellum without punctures, all smooth and shining. Mesopleuron with strong and rather dense punctures, smooth in-between; below subtegular ridge smooth and with a few punctures. Metapleuron with juxacoxal carina absent or at most a short basal carina. Propodeal areas smooth with strong punctures. Hind coxa smooth and shining with a few punctures. Hind femur length to width ratio 2.9 in male and 4.5 in female, ventrally with a medium sized tooth almost as long as width of hind tibia at mid length. Hind tibia 3.6 mm. Second tergite 2.9 × longer than wide at base, smooth and shining. Ovipositor 2.2 × as long as hind tibia.

Colouration. Antenna mostly brown or black, but basal and apical segments orange. Head orange, lighter on malar space. Mesosoma including propodeum orange. Hind femur orange, with apex yellow. Hind tibia dark brown. Fore wing somewhat infuscate, brownish. Tergite 1 orange at base, dark brown on postpetiole, tergite 2 mostly dark brown with orange base and apex, tergites 3 onwards orange, last tergites somewhat darkened in the male.

Material examined. Holotype ♀: Label data: 'Wardell, N.S.W.; 10 Jan 1933; A. N. Burns' / 'Collection; A. N. Burns'; at NMV.

Paratype: QLD—Stradbroke Island; 3.xii.12, leg. H.Hacker; 1 Ƌ, at QM.
