Murmidius globosus species group

Body oval but stout, moderately strongly convex; anterior clypeal margin smooth; pronotum with lateral margins moderately strongly convergent anterad; lateral pronotal impressions present; sublateral pronotal impressions absent; distance between mesocoxae shorter than between meso- and metacoxa and lateral regions of metaventrite between metaventral femoral line and metacoxa subquadrate, lacking large foveate punctures; area between mesocoxa and lateral carina of mesoventral plate distinctly microreticulate; antennal club weakly elongate, at most 1.5 × as long as broad; tarsomeres 1–3 with short, inconspicuous setae; elytra lacking rows of punctures; hind wings functional.

Two species known to occur in Chile, easily distinguishable by the shape of the mesoventral plate.
