Argyropelecus olfersii (Cuvier, 1829) View in CoL , was quoted (without details) in a list of fishes from Lebanon, eastern Mediterranean by George et al. 1964 (see Tortonese, 1970). According to Badcock (1984), the species is probably absent from the Mediterranean.
