Monotaxis grandoculis (Forsskål, 1775) , was recorded on the basis of a single sub-adult individual observed during a scuba dive at Antalya Bay, Turkey ( Bilecenoglu, 2007). According to Golani (2010) is better to refrain from including in the official list of the Mediterranean ichthyofauna, species whose presence is based only upon underwater photographs.
