Remarks: This species is listed here according to the morphological definition of Bussing (1998). Relatively recent molecular studies (e.g., Alda et al. 2013, Bagley et al. 2015, Palacios et al. (2016), however, yield contradictory results regarding the systematics and distributions of this species complex, evidencing the need for integrative work that seeks to resolve such inconsistencies.
