Dasyproctus geethae Binoy & Girish Kumar, 2021: 224 (28 Jan.) ( India: Kerala).

Dasyproctus hainanensis Yue & Li, 2021: 25 in Yue et al. 2021 (18 Mar.) ( China: Hainan) (syn. nov.).

Justification of new synonymy. D. hainanensis Yue & Li, 2021 (18 March) described from Hainan Province of China ( Yue et al. 2021) falls within the individual variation of D. geethae Binoy & Girish Kumar, 2021 (28 January) and is hereby synonymised.

Diagnosis. Clypeus with two well-produced lobes apico-medially and pointed lateral process, without median indentations; IOC distinct; POD almost equal to OOD; anterior carina of pronotal collar laterally curving towards pronotal lobe; marked punctation on head, mesosoma , metasoma and mesopleuron; all metasomal terga with yellow maculae.

Description. Female. ( Figs 33– 40 ). Body length 9.72–9.90 mm; fore wing length 7.11–7.18 mm.

Clypeus apico-medially produced into two well-defined lobes, pointed lateral process present ( Fig. 36 ); punctation of head, mesosoma and metasoma conspicuous; conspicuous IOC dividing frons, followed by regular, concave and vaguely foveolate excavation ( Fig. 35 ); well-imprinted supra-orbital fossa; punctation of mesopleuron similar to that of head, mesosoma and metasoma; POD almost equal to OOD ( Fig. 34 ); Gt 1 robust, length distinctly less than 2 × its greatest width, 1.4 × length of Gt 2; black with following parts variously coloured: scape yellow; mandible yellow with apex reddish brown; pronotal collar (except median notch), pronotal lobe and prepectus yellow; axilla and two almost contiguous spots on anterior half of scutellum yellow ( Fig. 37 ); Gt 2 with elongated and similar maculae of Gt 3 and Gt 4 ( Fig. 40 ).

Male. ( Figs 41–46 ). Body length 5.47–5.81 mm; fore wing length 3.46–3.81 mm.

Clypeus apico-medially produced, slightly bilobed ( Fig. 44 ); POD almost equal to OOD ( Fig. 42 ); Gt 2 finely punctured; head, mesosoma and Gt 1 distinctly punctate; pronotum with distinct rugae anterior to collar; black with following variously coloured parts: scape yellow; mandible black; pronotal collar (except medially), pronotal lobe and prepectus yellow; axilla and two almost contiguous spots on anterior half of scutellum yellow ( Fig. 45 ); Gt 2– Gt 6 maculated ( Fig. 46 ).

Prey. Adult Diptera belonging to families Dolichopodidae , Hybotidae , Lauxaniidae and Stratiomyidae ( Binoy et al. 2021) .

Distribution. India: Kerala, Tamil Nadu (new state record) ( Binoy et al. 2021). Elsewhere: China ( Yue et al. 2021).

Paratypes: 2 ♂, 2 ♀ (same locality as ho- lotype, all collected by C. Binoy) . 1 ♂, 03.viii.2020, ZSIK Regd. No. ZSI/ WGRC /IR/INV.14742 ; 1 ♀, 12.vii.2020, ZSIK Regd.
