General distribution. Europe: Albania, Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, France (incl. Corsica), Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine ( Zapparoli 2002; Minelli et al. 2006).
Chorotype. European (EUR).

Arkadia: Tripoli (loc. typ. of Lithobius mutabilis quartocomma var. tripolitanus Verhoeff, 1901 ) (1, 3, 7). Korinthia: Stimfalia lake (6, 7); Oros Killini, 1500 m (6, 7); Oros Killini, Ano Sinikia Trikala, 1500 m (6, 7); Oros Killini, Ziria, NE slope, 1600–2100 m (6, 7). Lakonia: Parnonas (4, 7); Parnonas, between Vamvakou and the refuge, 1420 m (6, 7); Taigetos, Poliana, 1000–1300 m (6, 7); Taigetos, E slope, 1800–1850 m (6, 7); Taigetos, refuge, 1800–2000 m (6, 7); Taigetos, near refuge (7); Taigetos, Profitis Illas (5, 7).
Ecological notes. 800–2400 m; a montane species known in Abies cephalonica and Pinus woods, and in open montane habitats ( Zapparoli 1994, 1996, 2002).
