Ecological notes. 0–2300 m; a thermophilous species, generally in Quercus coccifera scrubs, in Quercus sp. woods, in steppic habitats, in Abies cephalonica and Pinus nigra forest habitats, in Mediterranean phrygana; also in agroecosystems, in anthropized habitats, and in caves ( Verhoeff 1901; Zapparoli 1994, 1996, 2002).
